South Korean tech giant Samsung has launched a new Galaxy A-series smartphone in India, called Galaxy A22.
While the company has not yet said anything officially about the launch of the Galaxy A22, the handset has apparently hit the offline market as Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom announced its price and availability.
Now, the Galaxy A22 has even made an appearance on Samsung India’s official website with the same price.

The Galaxy A22 has been launched in a single storage variant of GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The MRP of the device is listed as Rs 20,499 on Samsung India website, but there is a discount of Rs 2,000, due to which it is selling at Rs 18,499. This is the same price at which the model is selling in offline markets too.
On Amazon India website, it is selling at Rs 18,490 presently.
Samsung Galaxy A22 specifications and features
Launched in Black and Mint colour options, the Samsung Galaxy A22 sports a 6.4-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display with 720x1600p resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio and 90Hz refresh rate.
It comes powered by an octa-core processor — MediaTek Helio G80 as per Amazon India website and unspecified on Samsung’s official website. This is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM, of which 103.4GB is available. Buyers also get a microSD card of up to 1TB with the device.
For imaging duties, the Galaxy A22 has a quad-camera setup on the back. The primary camera is a 48MP sensor (f/1.8 aperture). This is paired with an 8MP ultrawide angle sensor (f/2.2 aperture), a 2MP macro sensor (f/2.4 aperture) and a 2MP depth sensor (f/2.44 aperture). The rear camera setup offers up to 10x digital zoom. The main sensor also offers support for OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), which is said to make the device capture smooth videos and sharp pictures. On the front, users get a 13MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
Backed by a 5000mAh battery, the Galaxy A22 comes with support for 15W Adaptive Fast Charging.
Running on Android 11 with One UI 3.1 Core, the Samsung Galaxy A22 offers dual SIM support, offers a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
